Being found is only the start

Buyers need a reason to consider you. Make your offer clear, your evidence visible and your next step easy.

A person holding a tangled mass of threads in front of their face

A buyer can find your business and still struggle to see why it belongs on their shortlist. Being visible gets you into view. What they learn about you gives them a reason to go further.

That matters when choosing a partner carries cost or risk. The buyer needs to understand the offer, compare options and explain their choice to colleagues. Your public presence should help them do that.

Your first conversation may start halfway through

Imagine an operations director looking for a specialist partner. They search, read service pages, check the people behind each business and look for relevant work. They may use an AI answer or ask a trusted colleague.

Before anyone contacts sales, they can already have a view: this business understands our problem; this one has relevant experience; this one is hard to assess.

When the enquiry arrives, ask what the buyer has already learned. Which questions have you answered? Which have you left them to work out?

Follow one buying decision

Choose one priority audience and one decision they face. Review what they could encounter across search, AI, your website and social.

Can they see what you do, who you help and why your approach fits? Can they find evidence behind the promise? Do they know how to take the next step?

Look for specific gaps. A service page may list capabilities without explaining when they matter. Relevant work may be buried. An external profile may describe an offer you no longer provide. Each leaves the buyer with a different question.

Make the reason to consider you clear

Start with the question the buyer cannot answer. Clarify an unclear offer. Bring relevant work into view. Explain how your expertise applies to their situation.

This is where brand judgement matters. Visibility evidence shows what appears. Experienced interpretation helps identify what the buyer may still need: a clearer explanation, credible support or a useful reason to prefer your approach.

Publishing more is one possible response. First establish which gap the work needs to close.

Before your next campaign, follow one important buyer question through your public presence. Where does the reason to consider you become clear? Where does the buyer still have to guess?
