Useful content. Greater visibility.

A SaaS brand changed its content and access to evidence, then appeared in previously unrepresented AI answers.

Research and results: Gist · 15 May–24 July 2026

22 of 31

tracked questions mentioned the brand

The starting position.

In May, Gist tracked 15 generic questions for a Martech SaaS brand. The brand was named in none of the 2,768 answers collected for that baseline.

What the team changed.

The brand implemented 11 of 69 Gist recommendations. Work included a dedicated monitoring page for a manufacturing segment, a machine-utilisation guide, solutions pages that answered questions directly, removal of a bot wall blocking case studies, consistent brand naming and competitor comparison pages.

What Gist reported.

By the final July reading, the study reports that the brand appeared in 43% of the answers it was targeting. It was mentioned across 22 of 31 questions, with 19,382 answers analysed. The 15-question baseline and later 31-question coverage are different sets; these figures should not be presented as an identical-panel before-and-after comparison.

Reading the result carefully.

The study also includes a narrower page-related answer series. Its figures should not be combined with the broader coverage measure. Multiple recommendations were implemented, so the evidence does not isolate a single cause. Claude joined the panel in July; earlier weeks covered ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. The supplied study reports visibility, not a revenue or conversion outcome.

Valent’s perspective.

Clear answers and accessible evidence belong together. Review what buyers need to know, whether your pages answer it directly and whether AI systems can access those pages. Keep measurement scope consistent when assessing progress.
